President El-Sisi Stresses the Importance of Industry Localization

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met today with Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Major General Amir Sayed Ahmed, Chairman of the Engineering Authority of the Armed Forces Major General Ihab Al-Far, and Director of the Water Department at the Engineering Authority Major General Essam Galal, in the presence of the heads of each of Germany’s KSB Group, Hungary’s Ganz, Czech’s Sigma Group, and Japan’s Torishima.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the meeting discussed issues concerning water pumping stations transporting irrigation water from Bahr Al-Baqar drain for the cultivation and land reclamation in North and Central Sinai. These efforts are made in cooperation with major international specialized companies with long-standing experience that have been operating in Egypt.

At the meeting, President El-Sisi stressed that there is a broad scope in Egypt for these companies to carry out their activities and that the mega development projects provide great investment and job opportunities, whether concerning the reclamation of agriculture lands and water transportation from sewage and water treatment plants or other projects. His Excellency highlighted the importance of localizing industry and transferring technology, a principle that should be a fixed approach the State seeks to adopt with foreign companies operating in Egypt in various fields.
