President El-Sisi follows- up on Establishing Largest Spinning Factory in the World in El-Mahalla

Today, President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly and Minister of Public Business Sector Hisham Tawfik.

The Spokesman for the Presidency stated that the meeting followed-up on the state's strategy to develop the spinning, weaving and ready-to-wear garments industry in Egypt.
The minister of Public Business Sector presented the developments of establishing the largest spinning factory in the world in the city of Mahalla, which will be opened next year.The factory will be located on an area of 62,000 square meters and will include the state-of-art equipment and machines in this field with the experience of major international companies .It will also deal with all types of cotton, particularly long-staple and extra-long cotton, taking advantage of Egypt's competitive advantages in producing cotton worldwide according to its quality and distinguished reputation in international markets.

Efforts of the Ministry of Public Business Sector to develop the marketing of the products of the spinning and weaving sector at the highest level through the establishment of an Egyptian company for marketing, sales and supply chain management for all products of companies in the cotton spinning, weaving and clothing sector were presented. President El-Sisi checked samples of new luxury cotton textile produced from international Egyptian cotton, marketed by "Egyptian Cotton".
Efforts of the Ministry of the Public Business Sector to automate the cotton trade system, in coordination with the Ministry Trade and Industry and the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, across all governorates were reviewed. This includes the development of an automated system to implement auctions on Egyptian cotton in cooperation with the Egyptian Commodity Exchange, to ensure high performance and quality of implementation.
President El-Sisi directed continuing the Egyptian state’s plan to advance the spinning and weaving industry aiming to restore the former Egyptian cotton, within the framework of the state’s comprehensive development approach .This will maximize the benefit of the Egyptian capabilities within this framework, and thus support the national economy, especially that the textile industry is one of the labour-intensive industries.
