President El-Sisi inaugurates Baron Empain Palace after restoration. Over the past period, Baron Empain Palace has been completely renovated so as to be an exhibition narrating the history of Heliopolis to its visitors.

This historic palace is located in El-Orouba Street, Heliopolis, one of Egypt’s affluent districts.

Regarding the palace’s architectural design, it is inspired by the Indian style. Baron was the one who chose the Indian style, in particular, since he used to live there. He came to Egypt by the end of the nineteenth century, shortly after the opening of the Suez Canal. The King of France granted Édouard Empain the title of “Baron” in recognition of his efforts in establishing Paris Métro.
