President El-Sisi Meets with Greek Prime Minister

President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met with Prime Minister of Greece Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis.

The Spokesman for the Egyptian Presidency stated that the President praised the deep, distinguished relations between Egypt and Greece, the improvement in bilateral cooperation in various fields, and the distinguished level of political coordination between the two countries on issues of common interest. The President further expressed his appreciation for Greece's stances towards Egypt, whether at the bilateral level or within the framework of the European Union.

For his part, the Greek Prime Minister confirmed the already close historical ties binding the two countries. He also welcomed the remarkable progress in bilateral cooperation over the past years and expressed his country's keenness to deepen Egyptian-Cypriot relations in various fields, especially in light of the prominent Egyptian role in strengthening joint action mechanisms against current crises and challenges in the Mediterranean region. Egypt is held up as a model to be followed in maintaining stability and advancing the developmental, economic and social conditions at the regional level.

The Spokesman added that the talks touched on ways to strengthen bilateral relations at all levels and a range of regional and international files of common interest, on top of which are efforts to combat terrorism and the latest developments in the existing crises in the region.
