President El-Sisi Airlifts Emergency Aid to Flood-Affected People in Sudan

Under the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt and Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Egypt airlifts more emergency aid to the flood-hit people in the Republic of the Sudan and the Republic of South Sudan as a gesture of support for Sudan via extending a helping hand to the Sudanese people to overcome this crisis.

Two military planes, carrying humanitarian aid, landed in Khartoum International Airport by the time another military plane, loaded with humanitarian aid, took off from Cairo East Air Base en route to Juba International Airport in order to help lift the burden on the people of Sudan and South Sudan. Full-fledged support will be provided to the Sudanese people to face the damages caused by the flash floods and torrential rains that swept through the country during the past days.

Heading a delegation to Sudan, Egyptian Minister of Health Dr. Hala Zayed expressed Egypt's readiness to provide full medical support to the Sudanese people to face the ordeals and crises they are going through.

The Sudanese officials expressed their profound appreciation for the efforts Egypt makes, in this regard, in light of the historic relationship between both countries.

Traveling to the Republic of South Sudan with an Egyptian delegation, the Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation stressed Egypt's keenness to strengthen cooperation with South Sudan in the field of water resources and irrigation. The officials of South Sudan emphasized that this aid reflects the spirit of brotherhood and joint cooperation between the two peoples. They also welcomed the effective role played by the Egyptian leadership and people amid the crisis that ravaged the country.

This aid is an affirmation of Egypt’s active role in supporting regional and international humanitarian efforts aimed to alleviate the burden on both brotherly peoples.‎
