Speech by President El-Sisi Marking Chinese Communist Party 100th Anniversary

"In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful,

Your Excellency President Xi Jinping,

General Secretary of the Communist Party of China and President of the People's Republic of China,

It is with great pride and pleasure that I extend my congratulations, to you and the friendly people of China, on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CCP). It is that great political edifice that has successfully led China, secured its full independence and created a structure for the modern Chinese state in 1949.

The CCP has been leading China to date with a wise policy that made the Chinese economic miracle happen. As a result, China has become one of the great powers, an international power that reflects the greatness of the Chinese civilization and gaining from its history a driving force for modernity.

The Chinese experience has become a success story that many seek to study and benefit from. Under your leadership, the party has succeeded in making significant achievements.

We congratulate you and your people on making these achievements, foremost of which is the establishment of an advanced and modern society which reflects how the leadership is sincere and the Chinese people are determined and persistent.

Your Excellency Mr. President,

During our frequent meetings, we have pledged to advance relations between our two friendly countries. Today, we seek to extend the comprehensive strategic relationship to broader horizons.

The coronavirus pandemic crisis has proven that cooperation among countries and the ability to achieve integration and harmony at various levels are important factors to ensure the stability and safety of the international community.

All efforts must be made to exchange expertise and successful experiences and to support national capabilities in facing international challenges. I commend the continued positive role played by the Chinese government toward supporting Egyptian capabilities in facing the repercussions of the spread of the pandemic.

Your Excellency Mr. President,

The course of history may have made the 1st National Congress of the Chinese Communist Party held in 1921 coincide with the 23rd of July, a significant date for the Egyptian people as well since it marks the glorious Egyptian revolution that took place in 1952. This revolution has laid the foundations of the modern Egyptian state, eradicated colonialism in Egypt, and supported all liberation movements in the African continent.

Hence, Egypt was the first Arab, African and Middle Eastern country to recognize the People’s Republic of China (PRC) and the achievements of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and to establish diplomatic relations with China. Furthermore, the 30th of May this year marks 65 years of relations between our two countries.

In conclusion, I once again extend, on behalf of myself and the Egyptian people, our full congratulations to Your Excellency, the Chinese Communist Party and the friendly Chinese people on this occasion, praying to Allah Almighty to protect our two friendly countries and peoples.

May the peace, mercy and blessings of Allah be upon you.”
