President El-Sisi’s Speech at the “Differently-Abled” Celebration

My Sons and Daughters of Determination,

Honorable Guests,

At the outset, I would like to express my appreciation for all efforts exerted to serve this dear homeland and to achieve a comprehensive renaissance in all fields, primarily efforts pertinent to caring for, supporting and enabling our sons and daughters with disabilities and of determination and resolve.

I would like to confirm, once again, that I am proud and appreciative for participating with you, today, in this celebration, which has become a tradition that we are keen on as well as an extended and ongoing bridge of communication among us. Thus, it has become one of our homeland’s festivities, during which its sons of determination are celebrated, so as to derive from you the will and resolve and get inspired by your ability to give and your keenness on working diligently for the sublimation of Egypt and for building its future towards what we aspire for and dream of for the coming generations, God willing.

The story of struggle, determination and will for building our modern state has encountered numerous challenges that we have faced together during the past years. We still stand together, side by side, and work hand in hand, in order to surmount these hardships. We seek to change the status quo and alter the pathway, filled with a firm belief in the blessings of Allah the Almighty for those who master their work. We believe that achieving the highest levels of proficiency is dependent on what we give to our sons and daughters of determination and with disabilities, which we have been keen on. We gave directives to the various relevant authorities in the state to work on eliminating obstacles, providing a conducive climate and nurturing environment to enable them to effectively participate in an array of fields, as well as benefiting from their unique contributions and capabilities on the trajectory of national action.

Today, our sons of determination make us proud and appreciative of what they have reached and of the unprecedented achievements they made in various fora and occasions. This reflects the exceptional capabilities they enjoy and their unlimited potential to counter and overcome the challenges. This, at the same time, enhances the ambitions and aspirations we have for them and drives us to do everything possible to empower them, develop their skills, give them training services, qualify them, explore their skills and hone their creativity.

I would also like to seize this opportunity to direct all relevant apparatuses in the state to work on developing more plans and programs and to take the necessary executive measures, which aim to empower people of determination and integrate them in all national projects and initiatives executed by the state. Let efforts toward empowering our sons of determination be part and parcel of our priorities, which aim to promote the citizens’ lives in general.

From this venue, please allow me to announce a package of executive measures that will be effective in the coming period, targeting especially our children of determination.

First:

Including all the societal, cultural, sports and development needs and requirements of people of determination in the projects implemented by the Decent Life Initiative in all governorates.

Second:

Expanding the training of and equipping teachers with modern styles, skills and mechanisms so as to be able to deal and communicate with people of determination. This is in order to enable them to learn and excel in different academic and practical fields.

Third:

Encouraging the arts and cultural production sectors to create more drama and cultural productions that highlight the abilities, creativity and contributions of people of determination to building the New Republic.

Fourth:

Providing special programs and activities to people with determination by all sports and youth bodies. This is in order to improve their physical fitness and sports skills.

Fifth:

Coordinating efforts among concerned state bodies to design programs that seek to train and employ people with determination and quip them with the requirements of the labor market in different sectors, which opens future prospects for them.

Brothers and Sisters, the families of people with determination,

Words cannot suffice to thank you and express appreciation for everything you have done and still do to care for our children of determination. I know that you are overwhelmed by sentiments of love and affection for playing this role. I would like to reassert that you largely and significantly contribute to building this nation and thus reinforcing the renaissance of our nation.

I would like you to know that by assuming this great role, you have fulfilled the mission, exalted the trust, and bore responsibility towards one of the most important blessings that God bestowed upon us- that is a wealth of our daughters and sons.

Sons and Daughters,

As I conclude my speech, I would like to express my sincere appreciation and respect for your resolve, will and struggle. I would also like to express my pleasure to be here and meet with you, today, wishing you all success.

May God guide us to what is best for this great nation
